Why Sauna Rituals Exists
I built my own backyard sauna using mostly reclaimed materials and a very tight budget. It’s wood-fired, simple, and used year-round.
Over time, sauna stopped being something I did and became something I returned to. Lighting the fire. Waiting for heat. Sitting quietly. Letting the body settle.
Like many people, I experimented with scent — birch, pine, eucalyptus — using traditional methods. Sometimes it added to the experience. Sometimes it felt messy, inconsistent, or distracting.
Sauna Rituals exists to explore small, thoughtful tools that fit naturally into sauna use without overcomplicating it.
Nothing here is rushed.
Everything is tested in real heat.
If it doesn’t improve the ritual, it doesn’t belong.
